Buildings Energy Assessment in Scotland
Commercial
EPC - As part of the EU EPBD
part of the EU EPBD directive an Energy Performance
Certificate or EPC will be required for commercial
property for sale
or rent in Scotland. A sample EPC can be seen opposite.
Commercial Energy Assessment of property is wholly
different from domestic property. The assessor is
required to obtain a large dataset of the
commercial/industrial property to
enter into Government approved software known as iSBEM.
SBEM - Simplified Building Energy Model as it is known

inspection of Air
Conditioning Systems will be required, it is
advisable to have an inspection of the Air
Conditioning System prior to energy inspection
to ensure that HVAC
plant is running efficiently.
